Admissions open for 2025/2026 September

Our Curriculum

At The Little Oaks Montessori, our curriculum is designed to nurture the children academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Rooted in the Montessori philosophy, our approach encourages independence, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.

We offer a rich and balanced learning environment where children are free to explore at their own pace, guided by experienced educators who understand and respect each child’s unique developmental journey. Our curriculum allows children to learn real life skills and work in a colloborative enviornment.

In a world increasingly shaped by technology and artificial intelligence, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing children with an optimal learning environment. One that is rooted in nature, hands-on exploration, and meaningful human connection. Our Montessori curriculum is designed to nurture the whole child, fostering intellectual, emotional, and social growth in a stimulating and natural setting.

Montessori Areas of Learning

Our classrooms are intentionally designed to support the five key areas of the Montessori curriculum. Practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, and cultural studies. Each space invites children to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace.

Carefully arranged materials and hands-on activities inspire creativity, independence, and respect. Children cultivate curiosity, build confidence, develop social awareness, and grow morally. Through meaningful work, they strengthen their problem-solving skills and take ownership of their learning journey.

By balancing freedom with structure, we nurture self-discipline and responsibility, laying the foundation for a lifelong love for learning.

Guided by experienced Montessori educators, children gain essential life skills in a warm, respectful environment preparing them for success, both in and beyond the classroom.

“The child who never learned to act on their own, to direct their actions, to govern their will, becomes an adult who is easily governed and who needs the support of others.”
— Maria Montessori

Practical Life

Activities that help children develop coordination, concentration, independence, and a sense of responsibility such as pouring, buttoning, sweeping, and food preparation.

Sensorial

Hands-on materials that refine the senses and help children classify and understand the world around them laying a strong foundation for academic concepts.

Mathematics

Concrete materials that make abstract concepts easy to grasp, allowing children to build a solid understanding of numbers, quantity, and early problem-solving skills.

Language

A language-rich environment where children naturally develop vocabulary, reading, and writing skills through storytelling, phonetic games, and exploration of written language.

Cultural Studies

Lessons that introduce geography, science, music, art, and the natural world helping children understand and appreciate the diverse world they live in.

Arts & Creativity

Creative expression is an essential part of each day. Guided by our dedicated Arts teacher children explore a variety of materials and techniques through open-ended art activities that encourage emotional expression, fine motor development, and joyful discovery.

Our art classroom is a separate space from the Montessori environment, thoughtfully designed to invite creativity, sensory exploration, and imaginative free play. Here, children are free to experiment, make choices, and express themselves in meaningful and playful ways.

Movement & Mindfulness

We integrate movement and mindfulness throughout the day from outdoor play, dance to simple yoga and breathing exercises. These activities help children develop body awareness, self-regulation, and focus. Movement is a part of our daily routine at Little Oaks. Children not only play outdoors but also go on field trips and also to the nearest park for nature walks and movement.

Progress Reports & Communication

We believe in open and ongoing communication with families. Every child receives a detailed progress report twice a year, highlighting their development across academic, social, emotional, and practical life skills. These reports are shared during parent-teacher meetings, giving you a clear view of your child’s growth and learning journey.

Parents are always welcome to schedule a meeting with teachers at any time throughout the year by booking an appointment with the classroom co-ordinator.

Graduation & Celebrating Growth

At the end of each academic year, we come together as a school community to celebrate our children’s progress and milestones. Our graduation ceremony is a joyful and meaningful event that honors the accomplishments of children moving on to elementary school. It’s a moment to reflect on their journey, celebrate their independence, and mark the transition with pride and confidence.
